For my 3rd quarter genius hour I did a pet supply drive. Genius Hour is where you think of something you’ve always wanted to do that’s not valiant. I got a lot of donations and I’m really thankful for everyone that helped. My whole school donated, and I was out sick for two days and my friends, Mia Sartori, Dominic Lopez, Kayla Lahey, Piper Ledyard, Cameran Swartzlender, Savannah Bason and most of all my teacher Sean Farnum. I did this pet drive at my school Palencia Elementary. I held this pet supply drive March 9th-12th. I did this project because I love animals and I wanted to help. I emailed Peggy Larooche from S.A.F.E Animal Rescue and she came to my school so I could give her all the donations and she did a presentation for my class and I and she brought a foster dog from S.A.F.E named Rosie she would own her but she has 7 cats and a dog. She was super kind and I loved having her. This is one of the things she said during the presentation, she said some of the ways dogs might need a home is because the owner have been sick and couldn’t take care of the dog anymore. I asked her for a couple of quotes and she gave me one this is the one she gave me, I have a passion for saving animals and helping them good loving homes and my teacher Sean Farnum gave me quote as well, this is the one he gave me “It makes me so happy when students like Gracie uses her Genius Hour time to help others”. I asked my friend Mia which I mentioned towards the beginning what her favorite part was about helping with the project and what her favorite part of the project over all was, this is the answers she gave me “bringing the pet supplies out to the park and the other answer she gave me was “meeting the foster dog Rosie”.
