Global School Play Day is a day where a class brings in toys [non-harming], board games, and art supplies. You’re not allowed to play on devices. The date of Global School Play Day is Wednesday, February, 4Th, 2015. I’m going to bring star wars action figures and dinosaur action figures. I won’t be bringing any board games to school to play with. I might read from time to time. My friend Bryce is going to bring in transformers without their weapons. My other friend Gabriel is going to bring in a squishy dinosaur that has a ball that changes colors when squeezed and shoots bubbles when squeezed. PIP! is going to bring in a color twister and the game of scrabble. Gracie S. is going to be bringing the game of SORRY! Cameran is bringing a dunk tank. Ben is bringing transformers, trucks and mickey mouse. Dominic is bring a type of stuffed animal. Abby is bringing cool toys for her to play with. Ian is going to bring a Lego space ship and extra Lego parts for other creations. Spencer is going to bring the game of HEDBANDZ. Addison is going to bring stuffed animals. Tomorrow is going to be a great day at school.

I had not heard of Global Play Day, but playing games has always been one of my favorite things to do. When I was growing up, my friends and I would play games for hours on end; we even made up game tournaments. To this day, I know some books and authors from playing the game "Authors", states and capitals from a game called "Geography" (you put green toothpick-like things by places starting with a certain letter). If my students need to review for a test, I often create games like "Jeopardy", "$25,000 Pyramid", "Win, Lose or Draw" or others. I look forward to hearing how the day went. What surprised you the most about it?

My class would love to do this for a day. I'm excited to hear about the imaginative dinosaur adventures and what words were created in Scrabble. What a fun time and an amazing teacher.
