It's been over a month since I've posted, and there are so many things that I could - and should - write about. I'm going to go over the noteworthy bits of the last month, and hopefully, over the next few days, I'll get up some posts that go into things deeper.
I'm going to ISTE 2015 next week. Except I'm not... I don't have a budget to speak of, so I'm driving up, staying with friends, and going to every ancillary and tangential event that I can find. My thought is that I'll get to meet some fantastic people, see some friends from #EdCampUSA & Twitter, I'll get to pick up some new #EdTech previews, and I'll get to see some sightseeing in Philly during the day. I promise to write. Stay tuned for Poaching ISTE!
Briefly, because I could go on and on, here are the things that have been keeping me busy in the past month:
#EdCampUSA - Was an amazing trip! I got to meet so many fantastic people. I participated in so many fantastic conversations - many of them not an official part of the EdCamp. Great food, great sightseeing, great museums and monuments, DC was a fantastic location for an Ed getaway. Then to top it off, I got in a selfie with the Secretary of Education.
#EdCampVolusia - Through the EdCamp movement, I've gotten to know so many fantastic people, and a handful of them were putting on EdCamp Volusia a couple of weeks ago. The campus of Atlantic High School in Volusia County was impressive, the camp was very well run, and I got to participate in some powerful conversations. I will definitely be writing more about EdCamp Volusia.
Superior Tech for Teachers - This inaugural conference in Clearwater, Florida was well run, had an amazing group of presenters, and I made so many great connections over two days. More to come, for sure! I can't wait to make it back to hang out for EdCamp Tampa next October.
EdCamp St. Augustine Summah Summit - Upcoming in mid July, some pals and I are taking to a taco shop nearby to have an afternoon of educational inspiration. We'll be sharing and collaborating on our big ideas for the fall, eating tacos, and sipping cold beverages. After that, we'll set up an EdCamp St. Augustine 2016 planning team, and hit the beach.
That's all for now. I'm off to combat my insomnia.
